África Andando- Marruecos 2013
Within the educational cooperation
joint between Morocco
and Canary Islands, the Regional Academy of
Souss-Massa-Draa for education and training motivated outstanding pupils
through the activation of ''África-Andando" project which conducts
activities to sensitize students about cooperation, development and volunteer
work. The training program organized multiple activities during the period from
24 June 2013 until 08 July 2013 in Agadir, Tiznit, Taroudant and Essaouira for
20 male & female pupils from the region of Souss-Massa-Draa and 20 male
& female pupils from the Canary Islands.
África Andando (It’s a Spanish word, meaning: Walking by Africa) It’s an intercultural and educational program for young Africans and Canarians, it proposes a traveling as part of an expedition of coexistence to a neighbour country, to consolidate the ties that unite the Canary Islands to Africa, in terms of friendship, knowledge and cooperation.
They spent 15 days traveling Sous region, the first and last two days were in Agadir, three days in Tiznit (sleeping under tents at night), 1 day in Taroudant, three days walking and camping in the Small-Atlas mountains, and three days in Essaouira ( exactly in Sidi Kaouki beach). They did a lot of activities and they visited many places (Municipal museum of Amazigh culture Agadir, an association to proctect children, Ibn Zohr University Agadir,...) , also many Canarian projects in Sous-Massa such as: Timoulay four stars Hotel in Agadir made by a Canarian businessman,..!
Here are some sayings and feelings about África Andando:
“The first time we were all together in this
program, Moroccans and Canarians, we thought it would be difficult to contact
between us, because our religion and culture are different ... But only one day
was enough to know each others, then we began a friendship. After two
amazing weeks, we came back to Agadir to spend the last day of África
Andando, we couldn’t believe that time has passed so quickly ... We
learned a lot and we many best friends now, but the most important is to
maintain this friendship between us. Thanks África Andando.”
Zakaria Nouman & Mounib Elboujbaou (Morrocan participants).
“A
month after our last day in África Andando. One month since we returned from
Morocco and said goodbye to our family or "عائلة"
Moroccan, I felt like it was yesterday. I missed them a lot. I could not
forget all the moments that we spent together “ they were unrepeatable”. I
felt so lucky to live something like África Andando that neither is
explained in words. It has given me as a person, the opportunity to see a very
close country to Canaria, and explore it through its culture and its people.
It's in my mind every day and it will be so for a long time. What that meant to me is incomprehensible to most people who know me perfectly. At least 39 other people feel like me, undoubtedly. Thank you all” Cristina Escobio (Canarian participant).
